I’m Anthony Jr. La Santa Maldonado, an electronics engineer, educator, and researcher passionate about advancing technology through education and innovation. I currently hold a Master of Science in Unmanned Systems from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology and an Associate Degree in Instrumentation Technology from the University of Puerto Rico.
My professional experience spans diverse roles, including managing and maintaining engineering laboratories, providing technical support, and working as an installation technician specializing in fire alarm and access control systems. In these roles, I’ve honed skills in system design, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance, always ensuring quality and efficiency. As an educator, I’ve developed and delivered undergraduate courses in microprocessors, electronic circuits, and advanced aircraft navigation systems, crafting engaging learning experiences that comply with ABET standards and inspire innovation in my students.
My research interests focus on automation, microcontroller-based solutions, and uncrewed systems for industrial and indoor applications. I’ve contributed to projects that explore automation of mechanical systems using PIC microcontrollers and have co-authored published work on energy-harvesting polymers, reflecting my commitment to exploring how emerging technologies can address real-world challenges.
